GPS tracker product and plan data

A source-linked comparison of eight representative cellular trackers and item finders. Use it to separate hardware format, update speed, service cost, battery conditions, and offline behavior before choosing a product.

8 product recordsOfficial sources onlySources checked July 31, 2026

Cost rule

Compare the plan actually priced

The cost path uses the lowest current public single-device plan. It is not automatically the fastest reporting tier.

Speed rule

Scheduled reports only

Manual refresh buttons are not counted as scheduled reporting intervals. AirTag has no user-selectable reporting schedule.

Evidence rule

Conflicts stay visible

When current manufacturer pages disagree, the record preserves the conflict instead of inventing one definitive number.

Normalized comparison

Eight products on one cost and evidence framework

First-year total equals one current hardware purchase plus the lowest published one-year service path. Two-year total uses an explicit two-year prepay when offered; otherwise it repeats the current annual price or multiplies the current monthly price by 24. Taxes, shipping, accessories, replacement batteries, discounts for multiple devices, and future price changes are excluded.

What the totals reveal

A low monthly number does not answer the whole purchase question

  • LandAirSea 54: the lowest-cost path uses three-minute reports; the three-second tier costs much more.
  • Tracki Universal: the two-year prepay materially changes the effective cost, but the comparison still needs the hardware price and update tier.
  • Spytec: current direct personal plans include hardware, so the service total is also the calculated total before tax and optional accessories.
  • AirTag: no service fee is not equivalent to cellular GPS tracking; the network and reporting model are different.

Cost formulas

How the derived fields are calculated

First-year service cost
Published annual prepay when available; otherwise the current single-device monthly plan multiplied by 12.
First-year total
Current direct hardware price plus first-year service cost.
Two-year service cost
Published two-year prepay when available; otherwise current annual prepay multiplied by two, or current monthly service multiplied by 24.
Not applicable versus not published
“Not applicable” means the field does not belong to that product model. “Not published” means we did not find the answer in the checked official sources.

Source notes

Conditions and limitations by product

These notes are part of the data, not footnotes to ignore. Battery and coverage claims are only useful when their operating conditions remain attached.

Spytec Atlas Mini

Installation
Carry in a pocket, bag, or compatible accessory
Battery conditions
Spytec's portable comparison supplies the usage scenarios; the current pricing page separately summarizes battery life as up to two weeks.
Offline behavior
Not published in the checked Atlas Mini and pricing sources.
Known limitation or conflict
Current Spytec pages use different battery summaries. Atlas Mini's published fastest scheduled interval is 60 seconds, not the five-second interval of Atlas Portable.

Spytec Atlas Portable

Installation
Magnetic weatherproof case included with the current direct plan
Battery conditions
Movement, reporting interval, signal quality, and temperature affect runtime.
Offline behavior
Spytec says the tracker stores location data without coverage and uploads it after reconnecting.
Known limitation or conflict
Weather protection depends on using the included case and placing it as directed. The battery figures are scenarios, not guaranteed runtime.

Spytec Atlas XL

Installation
Adhesive mount included; heavy-duty or magnetic mount may be separate
Battery conditions
The product page describes normal use as 8–12 months, while other current Spytec pages advertise up to 18 months.
Offline behavior
Spytec says the tracker stores location data without coverage and uploads it after reconnecting.
Known limitation or conflict
Official maximum-runtime claims conflict across current pages. Treat the mode-specific figures as the more auditable comparison and confirm the current plan and firmware behavior.

Spytec Pulse OBD

Installation
Plug into a compatible vehicle's OBD-II port
Battery conditions
The vehicle and OBD-II port must be compatible and able to power the device.
Offline behavior
Not published for Pulse OBD in the checked personal-pricing source.
Known limitation or conflict
Current Spytec pages conflict: the personal pricing page says updates as fast as one second, while the Pulse OBD product page says updates every two seconds. The device is also visible and removable at the diagnostic port; compatibility should be checked before purchase.

LandAirSea 54

Installation
Built-in magnet; compact IP67-rated enclosure
Battery conditions
Runtime depends on movement, report interval, GPS and cellular reception, temperature, and battery age.
Offline behavior
Not specified in the checked product and plan source.
Known limitation or conflict
The cost totals use the three-minute tier. The three-second tier is $49.95 monthly or $449.55 for one prepaid year, so fastest-update cost is materially higher.

Bouncie GPS Car Tracker

Installation
Plug into a compatible vehicle's OBD-II port
Battery conditions
Requires a compatible powered OBD-II port and a healthy vehicle electrical system.
Offline behavior
Bouncie states that no data is transmitted when wireless service is lost; catch-up behavior is not guaranteed in the checked sources.
Known limitation or conflict
The totals exclude the three-or-more-device discount. Location detail can be delayed by signal conditions, and impact notifications are not guaranteed in every incident.

Tracki Universal 4G

Installation
Magnet, belt clip, Velcro, keychain, or lanyard accessories
Battery conditions
Tracki separately lists 2–3 days at frequent tracking, three months at once-daily reporting, and longer claims with an optional extended battery.
Offline behavior
Not published in the checked product and subscription-plan sources.
Known limitation or conflict
The current product page contains conflicting update and battery statements. Costs and scheduled tiers use the Tracki help document; five-second manual ping is not treated as a scheduled interval.

Apple AirTag (2nd generation)

Installation
Attach to a personal item; a holder may be required
Battery conditions
Apple says battery life varies with use, environment, and replacement-battery manufacturer.
Offline behavior
The item's location updates when it connects to the Find My network; no scheduled onboard route-history service is published.
Known limitation or conflict
AirTag is an item finder, not a cellular GPS tracker. It requires compatible Apple software and includes unwanted-tracking protections.

Methodology, reuse, and update policy

This is a research dataset, not a hands-on performance test. We extracted current public facts from manufacturer product pages, support documentation, pricing tables, and billing terms, then applied the same cost formulas to every record. Prices can change without notice. Coverage claims do not guarantee service at a particular address, road, or installation position.

You may quote individual values or reuse the files with attribution to BetterPickAdvisor and a link to this page. If a source changes or a calculation is wrong, use our corrections process so the public table and downloadable files can be updated together.
