Editorial Policy

Our purpose

BetterPickAdvisor helps readers make product decisions by explaining trade-offs, recurring costs, compatibility, and use-case fit. We aim to show why an option fits a particular buyer rather than declare one product universally best.

How topics and products are selected

We prioritize decisions with meaningful differences in cost, features, ownership requirements, or audience fit. Product inclusion is based on relevance to the decision. An affiliate relationship is not required for inclusion, and it does not guarantee a favorable conclusion.

Evidence standards

We prefer manufacturer product pages, manuals, support documentation, plan terms, and other primary sources for specifications and pricing. Owner feedback and app-store reviews may be used to identify recurring themes, but those reports are labeled and are not represented as verified facts or as our own experience.

Hands-on testing

We state clearly whether an article is based on research or hands-on testing. A product is not described as tested unless the article can identify the test conditions, duration, and relevant evidence. Current GPS tracker coverage on this site is research-based, not laboratory tested.

Recommendations and scoring

Recommendations reflect the criteria shown in the article. Editorial scores are comparative judgments, not laboratory measurements. Readers should use the underlying evidence and use-case guidance—not a score alone—to make a decision.

Commercial independence

Affiliate commissions may fund the site, but they do not purchase coverage or determine rank. Sponsored content, if introduced in the future, will be labeled clearly and kept separate from independent editorial recommendations.

Updates and corrections

Time-sensitive facts are rechecked when an article is materially updated. Confirmed material errors are corrected and, when they could affect a purchase decision, noted on the page. See our corrections policy.
